Yesterdays’ fiction is today’s realities - Went to Microwave International New Media Arts Festival where we get to see a merge of contemporary scientific research and our creativity.
Two of my favourite pieces are CO(AI)XISTENCE and SURVEILLANCE SPEAKER.
Love the work of French artist @justineemard CO(AI)XISTENCE where audience get to witness the unstructured communication between human and actor/dancer. They interact through signals, body and spoken language with their different intelligence. The piece left a lot space for audience’s imagination, as a dancer I also feel emotional watching. (sat there and watched for 3 times)
Belgian artist @DriesDepoorter also showcase a rather witty art piece where his installation is about surveillance and artificial intelligence. Now I think one day in the future I go for a show and heard “I see 3 people in an exhibition watching painting” I think I’ll have a smile on my face!
Once again proved, digital arts are intertwining more and more into our lives day after day and it will be interesting to see what’s on offer in the next 10 years, or maybe 5!
