Came across American artist Virginia Overton's work recently. Feeling the connection with her new sculptures. Her works are made from objects and elements she comes across in her immediate environment, her choices and working process driven by 'natural push and pull in materials'. The narrative and value systems are created when these materials are appropriated, revived and recontextualised. Her sculptures are performative and poetic, to me, they are dancing in their own world.
